Amazon workers have been speaking out against the company’s unfair labor conditions for years – and they’ve been consistently punished for it. But a new labor deal could majorly shake things up.

Amazon’s new deal, reached after pressure from employees and the National Labor Relations Board, gives workers the right to organize without the fear of being fired.

While this is a step in the right direction for this company and others like it, the issues it addresses shouldn’t have existed in the first place!

Without deals like this, it’s easy for companies to punish their employees for seeking better working conditions. Terrified workers won’t dare step out of line when their jobs are at stake!

So why would Amazon strike a deal like this?

Amazon’s turnover rate is about 150%. They blame workers, or the economy – but these “labor shortages” are a direct result of bad working conditions. It seems obvious, but when you treat workers better, they’re less likely to quit!

This deal could also just be a trick to counter negative press about how they treat workers. Either way, it’s good news.

Employees should have the right to protest unfair conditions without fear of losing their jobs. Corporations should never have had so much power over people’s ability to survive in the first place – so this is a step in the right direction for workers’ rights!
