Black Friday came and went – but ads for holiday season deals remain. While we’re all scouring the internet and malls for savings, watch out: some of these sales aren’t exactly what they appear to be. Keep an eye out for these common holiday “deals” that are actually lies.

#1: “Discounted” Items

Sometimes we can’t resist buying something just because it's on sale, but this is a common retail trick. Stores often raise prices – and then lower them for the holidays to make it SEEM like you’re getting a deal! But in actuality, you’re paying full price.

#2: Quality

Quality plays a key role when shopping for new household items, but with a smaller price tag can come a big sacrifice. Some manufacturers make cheaper and inferior products just to sell during Black Friday and the holidays. Your TV, laptop, or printer could come without some essential features to justify its lower price.

#3: “Low” Prices

Keeping an eye on the prices of products you’re looking to buy months before the holidays will reveal whether your item is ACTUALLY on sale. Using a price tracking app is a great way to help you track prices over time.

We all want to save money, but financial liberation means we must be intentional about our spending. We must always do our due diligence to make sure we’re actually getting the deals we’re being promised!
