The job market is very competitive right now, and it's causing some employers to increase their payroll budgets. But not everyone is benefitting. Some people are making a lot more than others – especially at Amazon.

Amazon is upping the maximum salary of its corporate employees to $350,000 a year – almost double the amount it was previously!

But the hardworking factory employees havent been so lucky.

Most warehouse Amazon workers make about $14 an hour, or around $30,000 a year – about 10% of what corporate workers make. This is on par with the national average for this type of work.

But WHY are warehouse employees, who work extremely hard under often toxic, dangerous conditions, paid so much less than corporate workers? These gigantic wage disparities reveal something important about our economic system.

Roughly 2.2% of American businesses are Black-owned. But from now until May 8th, 2022, BA is accepting applications from early-stage businesses, offering funding up to $1 million!

The truth is our economic system does not care how hard someone works. This wage divide tells both consumers and workers who is prioritized – and who is seen as less valuable.
