Cruise ships have routinely been a popular travel option for many Black Americans. Now it is more affordable than ever. With nearly 2,000 cruises that cost under $100 a day, here's how to save on booking a cruise trip.

#1: Find the best time of the year to book.

January through March is a great time to book a cruise as many cruise lines will have a “wave season” promotion. November through December is also a great time to book with the potential to receive extras like reduced deposits.

But what if you already booked?

#2: Keep searching for prices even after you have booked.

Most cruise lines will price match deals up until two months before departure. So if a deal looks great now, jump on it and find a better deal later.

But what if you need some help finding deals?

#3: Travel agents can help find deals

They typically work on commission so their services are usually free. Agents have access to group rates and discounts not usually advertised. They are a great way to save money.

Cruise travel can be fun AND affordable. These tips will help us navigate the financial waters we need for happy sailing!
