There's unequal ownership in the stock market. It’s always been seen as a “white people” thing. However, investing in stocks is one of the most strategic ways to increase wealth.

Stock is a financial tool representing a share of ownership in a public company. The Stock Market is where investors buy and sell those tools to increase a company’s profits. Every trade gives us, the buyer or seller, money.

As these stocks are traded daily, they gain or lose value. This affects day-to-day life by affecting things like the price of gas, the amount of money in a retirement account like a 401k, and job security.  But there’s another reason we need to get involved in the stock market.

Understanding what stocks are and how they’re traded is crucial for us. The stock market is a huge source of economic disparity. Those who own stocks tend to create and hold more financial wealth than those who do not.

It’s ok to start small. The more people in the Black community start investing; the more we increase our  chances of creating generational wealth. The more wealth within our community, the closer we are to financial liberation.
