We all know the media is biased. Hollywood needs new ideas, but over 90% of all media is fed to us by six old, white, male-controlled companies

It's a disgusting statistic that Byron Allen is looking to change.

Starting his career in stand-up and a show,' Kickin' It With Byron Allen' which ran for 21 seasons, Allen had big plans. His business empire began in 1993 when he founded Entertainment Studios.

With a net worth of around $500 million, Allen slowly began to acquire whole media outlets. His acquisition of The Weather Channel in 2018 made waves. He partnered with Sinclair Broadcast Group a year later to buy 21 regional Fox Sports Networks.

These moves were just the start of Allen's goals.

Allen just purchased The Black News Network for $11 million. What makes what Allen is doing different from white media moguls? Intent. "We need to own our networks, [to] control how we're [...]depicted and seen around the world."

The fact that the likes of Bob Iger and Rupert Murdoch control a third of the world's media explains its monotone. They give us the illusion of choice, but they control the narrative. Byron Allen understands this and is playing their game to level the playing field.
