The study ranked 185 metro areas based on affordability, growth potential, competition and demographics – here are among the top ranked cities for first-time home buyers.
The Texas military town of Killeen is not only the top housing market in the country for first-time homebuyers, but it also has the lowest gap in homeownership between races.
With a median home price of just over $250 thousand, Jacksonville, North Carolina, falls in the number twelve spot of best cities for first-time buyers. Jacksonville also has a low homeownership gap rate and has a robust Black community.
One of the country’s first planned cities, Savannah, Georgia, has one of the largest Black populations in the nation. It’s also ranked in the top 15 best cities for first-time homebuyers.
